Gas
flow in the VIP™ cylinder is direct and simple. As the discharge valves
move toward the outer end, the frame end suction valve opens, allowing
incoming gas to flow into the void created by the movement of the
discharge valve. At the other end, the discharge valve opens as the
gas is compressed against the outer end suction valve. The VIP compressor
is a double-acting cylinder, so the process is reversed. No longer
is there a tortuous path for gas flow through the compressor, just
simple straightforward gas flow which increases efficiency.
