In April 2007, Dresser-Rand
acquired the Gimpel™ line of valves from Tyco Flow Control.
Gimpel started producing valves in 1918. Since then they have
expanded their original steam design used by the nation’s
turbine suppliers to include safe, reliable emergency shut-down
and control valves for marine applications (aircraft and
submarines), and for the power and the oil and gas industries.
The current product line includes:
- Steam turbine protection and control valves (includes trip, trip
throttle, and non-return valves)
- Swing disc non-return valves (includes pneumatic and hydraulic
operating cylinders)
- Trip throttle valves
(includes mechanical latch-type
trip throttle valves and hydraulic-operated trip and trip
throttle valves)
