Dresser Rand's Peter Brotherhood marine turbines have been installed in several hundred ships in many of the major shipyards in the world.

The concept of a waste heat recovery system that includes a steam turbo-generator set, is based on the production of additional electric power from the heat energy in the exhaust gas of the main engine.

Each Peter Brotherhood marine turbine is individually designed for its particular application ensuring the highest possible system / cycle efficiency.

Dresser-Rand has close links with waste heat boiler manufacturers, electrical equipment suppliers and main engine designers which, in co-operation with ship owners, allow the development of specifically designed systems to give the best possible fuel saving and pay back periods.

The turbo-generator unit is usually designed as a single package incorporating the oil reservoir, auxiliary components and interconnecting pipework.

Peter Brotherhood steam turbines are ideally suited to retrofit applications - where waste heat recovery systems may be installed in ships that were originally built without them.

Dresser-Rand has extensive experience in meeting the full requirements of all relevant marine standards. An appropriate classification authority such as Lloyds, ABS, Bureau Veritas or DNV certifies each marine steam turbine.
