This one-day course is intended for operators and mechanics, but is also suitable for supervisors and process and mechanical engineers,
with its emphasis on the practical aspects of the trip system operation and maintenance. A portion of this course will be devoted to classroom presentations that include trip fundamentals, detailed operation of the various mechanical and electrical trip systems, and maintenance procedures that include disassembly, component evaluation,
re-assembly, and adjustment. The remainder of the course offers a hands-on lab where students can disassemble and inspect a mechanical overspeed trip system. Upon reassembly, the students can set the trips to the specified values, perform the required overspeed
checks, and adjust the system as necessary. |
