Gas Turbine Engine Repair (KG2 and KG5)
The intent of the gas turbine engine overhaul carried out by Dresser-Rand at its repair
centre in Kongsberg, Norway, is to restore performance and mechanical configuration to
current new engine production standards. The scope of work for a typical engine overhaul
is as follows:
Scope of Supply:
Disassembly, cleaning, inspection and full dimensional checks.
NDT inspection (MPI; FPI and X-ray) as required by Dresser-Rand specifications.
Submission of an Inspection Disposition Report (IDR)
to the client.
Product upgrades are incorporated to match current standard production design
for enhanced reliability and maintainability during the next duty cycle.
Full load Factory Acceptance Test in a production test cell
(waterbrake) to
verify mechanical integrity and performances. The acceptance criteria are identical to
current new engine production FAT.
Gas Turbine rotor Overhaul (KG2 and KG5)
Overhaul of the engine static parts can be carried out in other Dresser-Rand authorized
repair centres in the world (see list) at clients convenience. In this case the
rotor is sent for overhaul at the Kongsberg repair centre and reinstalled in the engine
prior to delivery to the client.
