Dresser-Rand provides parts, services, and support for
all of its turbomachinery equipment bearing the Clark, Dresser-Rand,
and Ingersoll-Rand nameplates.
Today’s Dresser-Rand can be traced back to the
historic beginnings of two entrepreneurs – Solomon R. Dresser and Simon
Ingersoll.
By the late 1930’s, both companies stood ready for the
future — Dresser Industries, with its new line of Clark
"angle" compressors, featuring upright power cylinders driving
horizontal compressors; and Ingersoll-Rand, with a
first-of-its-kind centrifugal compressor for high-pressure gas
transmission service and a full line of single multistage centrifugal
compressors purchased from General Electric.
Dresser and Ingersoll-Rand worked along parallel paths
for a century, offering competitive equipment, developing new products,
and acquiring companies that complemented their core businesses. In 1987,
a joint venture was formed between the two companies, resulting in the
creation of Dresser-Rand.
Today, Dresser-Rand is a global leader in the
turbomachinery market, providing compressor and gas power turbine
technology for the following primary industries: gas lift/injection, gas
gathering/storage/transmission, syn-fuels, ethylene, fertilizer,
refineries and chemical production.
